What's the Aim of the Free Guide?


The aim of the guide is to give a short and basic introduction to business communication and tips on improving communication skills for those working within an international or multicultural workplace.

It is not by any means meant to be an all-encompassing guide to cultural awareness, intercultural communication, cultural competence or cultural diversity.  That would be too ambitious.

We have chosen to focus solely and specifically on communication as the skill we are trying to develop as this is one of, if not the, most fundamental aspect people must get right when working cross-culturally.

Through using the guide, users will learn to:

* Communicate clearly, and
* Act appropriately with people from different countries/cultures

How Can I Use the Communication Skills Guide?

It follows a very simple logic; a question is presented to set the scene. Guidance is then given on how to overcome certain challenges and an exercise always follows to help consolidate knowledge learned.
